Shakshuka

This delicious recipe from @fitaliancook can do so much more than it may seem at first glance - it’s one of Israel’s national dishes for good reason. Serve it with a little bread, dip in, and enjoy.

The Adamant® Comfort Frying Pan is ideal for preparing this dish and is suitable for all hob types. You can flip pancakes in no time. Use metal turners with confidence. You can sear at high heat or cook gently, let sauces bubble until all the ingredients have come together into a harmonious whole. And finally, proudly place the result on the table. Our Adamant® Collection handles all of this with ease. After the meal, cleaning is just as easy. Made in Germany for the highest standards.

Enjoy trying it out.

Ingredients

8 vine tomatoes
1 red bell pepper
2 cloves of garlic
2 small onions
4-5 eggs
3 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. tomato paste
2 tsp each cumin, sweet paprika
pinch of sugar
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp coriander (parsley as an alternative)
optional chili
1 baguette for dipping

Instructions

Step 1 of 6:

Heat the Frying Pan over medium heat and fry the finely chopped garlic cloves, along with the onions and peppers, in the olive oil for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 2 of 6:

Meanwhile, cut the tomatoes into large pieces.

Step 3 of 6:

Add the sweet paprika and cumin to the Frying Pan and fry for one minute as well (this releases the flavours) - then add the tomatoes.

Step 4 of 6:

Add 1 tbsp. of tomato paste to the Frying Pan, stir everything well, put the Lid on, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes .

Step 5 of 6:

Season with salt, pepper, and sugar; if you like, add a little more cumin.

Step 6 of 6:

Add the eggs to the Frying Pan and, if needed, spread the egg white slightly with a fork (be careful, the yolk should stay intact), put the Lid on, and let it set for about 5 minutes. Top with coriander or parsley and serve with baguette.
